Our proposal
- Reduced potential for homes and jobs is a result of the reduction in the land enabled for development:
- Between 250 and 1000 new homes (1000 - 1900 in EAP 2015)
- Between 10,000 and 11,200 jobs (7,200 - 13,600 in EAP 2015)
- Developments should largely be limited to 30 - 38 metres (c. 9 to 11 residential storeys) above ground level to protect and enhance the protected view corridors
- Taller buildings, which should be carefully designed and sited to avoid harm to the local area or strategic view corridors, might be appropriate in the following areas:
- The northern part of the station - 60 metres from ground level (c. 18 residential storeys)
- The south-west corner of the station - 55 metres above ground level (c. 16 residential storeys).
- Over the stations there will be large and accessible open space as well as cultural and leisure facilities for residents and local communities to enjoy
- Shops, cafes and restaurants should reflect the needs of the local community and enrich the experience of visiting Euston
- New commercial floor space will be prioritised which supports the creation and retention of knowledge economy growth sectors and educational uses
